Intro
Though born in Washington to a Navy family, I have lived in multiple states and traveled even more. Likewise my studies and more recently my work in Christian ministry has literally taken me around world, so much so that I have called everywhere from the major city of Auckland, New Zealand to the tiny village of Black Lick, Pennsylvania and finally the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains in southwest Virginia my home.
My family grew up around books and I credit my parents, keen educators themselves, with instilling in me an endless curiosity for the intoxication of the written word. I now pursue this field professionally, along with the connections it has with spirituality, therapy, chaplaincy, and trauma-informed bibliotherapy.
As an educator and chaplain, I now have the opportunity to combine my love of language and literature with ministry and counseling and am happy to share some of that with you here. ~ Lindsey

In my article"Rooms for Loss: Literature and Healing at Home," I explore the connections between the theory of home and the literature that resonated with my experience of not only owning a new home during COVID-19 but conceptualizing the pregnant body as a type of home as I experienced my first pregnancy.
